The original painting was created as a donated for the non-profit: Five Finger Lighthouse Society. I considered images of the lighthouse and chose to show the island on its narrowest side to focus on its isolated location in Frederick Sound. This historic lighthouse is a relative newcomer compared to the humpback whales that make use of the undersea topography to channel and gulp their tiny prey. Whale researcher often us this site as a base in whale rich Frederick.
